Curriculum

Preschool Curriculum – St. Patrick’s preschoolers are engaged and supported in all areas of development.  The children are guided through weekly, themed lessons that involve Religion, Math, Reading, and Handwriting skills.  Our early childhood programs have been identified in the community as an excellent start to a rigorous and faith-based education.  Music, Gym and Art are incorporated into the preschool curriculum weekly. 

Curriculum grades K-8 – All students are engaged and supported in the following: Religion, Math, Reading, Writing/Grammar, Vocabulary, Science, Social Studies, Spanish, Music and Physical Education.

Math – Saxon Math is used school wide at St. Patrick’s. All grades have their Math instruction at the same time, which allows our students to walk to a different level Math class assuring all students are receiving the instruction they need. This highly regarded curriculum is cyclical in nature. Meaning that students are constantly reviewing previously taught concepts as new ones are introduced.

Reading – Students in grades 2-8 complete novel studies on various books throughout the year. Novels are chosen from a curated list of classic titles including, but not limited to, Little Women (8th Grade), The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe (4th Grade) and The Boxcar Children (2nd Grade). 

English/Language Arts (ELA) – Grades 5K – 2 use the Super Kids curriculum which uses explicit phonics instruction and relatable characters to make learning to read fun! In grades 3-8, Voyages and Sadlier Vocabulary curriculums are implemented so that students are learning not just the mechanics but also the meaning of the English language. 

Student’s Progress – A strong working relationship between home and school is vital to a child’s success. Parents/Guardians are encouraged to reach out to teachers with any questions regarding a student’s progress. Formal progress is tracked via quarterly report cards and Parent/Teacher Conferences held twice a year.
